The base of the core was a mix of alternating sleet and snow layers with perhaps 3/4" of fine snow on top. Out in the yard it would bear my weight easily.
On the snowboard the total core and daily had the same depth, but the total core was more compacted.

Some light rain/drizzle during through about 12 CST on 01/23; measured 0.05 just as the temperatures dropped below freezing. Some light freezing rain around 14-14:30 rapidly transitioned to sleet. Shortly after 15 CST began to get periods of snow alternating with sleet and mixed on occasion. Continued sleet/snow mix through the evening. A quick check before bed and measurements this morning show very light precipitation overnight.
Snowfall SWE is melted snow/sleet minus liquid and frozen rainfall.
Core SWE is a mix of a thin ice layer; sleet, and snow. |
