| 2026-01-27 | 7:26 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 4.0 | 0.45 | | A brief burst of very light snow showers occurred around 5 am; however, they mostly appeared to be fine ice crystals and nothing really accumulated. It was a fine line between calling it a trace and “0” but I went with 0”. |
| 2026-01-26 | 7:20 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | The extreme cold continued yesterday and overnight. No precipitation captured or observed. Clear, calm and -9 degrees this morning. |
| 2026-01-25 | 7:38 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation observed or captured in gauge. Temps are warming slightly but still at zero or low single digits. |
| 2026-01-24 | 7:38 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation captured or observed over the last 24 hours. The deep freeze continues with our thermometer reading -20 this morning. Luckily the winds are still. |
| 2026-01-23 | 7:42 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | Very light dusting of snow present on the walks this morning. There was a brief squeal yesterday around 1 pm but it did t last long. The dusting occurred overnight. Barely a trace captured in the gauge and on the snow board. It was too light to measure. |
| 2026-01-22 | 7:37 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | There was a brief squall yesterday afternoon. The board and gauge only captured a trace however. Temps are in the single digits with an extreme arctic blast on the way. |
| 2026-01-21 | 8:00 AM | 0.09 | 1.4 | 0.08 | NA | NA | | Temps are in the mid teens. Calm winds. Snow began overnight and ended by 6 am. |
| 2026-01-20 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Temps well below zero overnight. No precipitation detected yesterday. |
| 2026-01-19 | 8:00 AM | 0.03 | 0.7 | 0.04 | 4.7 | 0.39 | | Extreme cold this morning. Light snow began falling around 3 pm yesterday. Off and on throughout the night and into early this morning. All snow stopped by 6 am. Very windy so both gauge capture and snowboard may have been impacted by the wind; however, both SWE measures were nearly equivalent. I will update snowpack later today.
updated with snowpack measurements at 4:35 pm. |
| 2026-01-18 | 7:00 AM | 0.02 | 0.9 | 0.03 | NA | NA | | Light snow continued throughout the day and evening yesterday. While only under an inch was captured on the snowboard, it seemed like there should have been a higher amount reported based on the number of times I shoveled! Nevertheless both the gauge and the snow core from the board once again were very equivalent in SWE. The gauge capture was closer to .025” but it rounded down to .02. |
| 2026-01-17 | 7:00 AM | 0.18 | 2.7 | 0.18 | NA | NA | | Snow began around 6 pm last evening - very sleety - and then changed over to snow. It got extremely windy for a short time as well.
it is not an error that my gauge capture and snowfall SWE match. That is how it measured out. It did seem like the snow had more water content than what was measured but this is how it melted down. I did add .5” of warmer water to the core each time and subtracted that from the total measure; this was the first time I used that method. Perhaps it’s not as exact as if I had just waited for it to melt on its own? |
| 2026-01-16 | 7:00 AM | 0.16 | 1.7 | NA | NA | NA | | Will complete new snowfall SWE layer this morning. |
| 2026-01-15 | 7:34 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Slight trace of snow in gauge likely leftover from yesterday’s morning squalls. Nothing noticed overnight. Nothing captured on snowboard. |
| 2026-01-14 | 8:00 AM | 0.05 | 0.9 | NA | NA | NA | | Snow squall went through early in the morning. Snowboard collected .9” of snow; however, I did not have time to take a snow core. |
| 2026-01-13 | 7:26 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No measurable precipitation. There were a few raindrops on the sidewalk this morning but nothing captured in the gauge. Temps are expected to be in the upper 40s which should melt most of the little snowpack we have. |
| 2026-01-12 | 6:18 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation captured or observed. |
| 2026-01-11 | 7:32 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | Light dusting occurred last evening but didn’t last long. By this morning the pavement has sporadic spots of flakes only. Only a drop caught in the gauge.
1/10 ob was taken at 1130 AM. MKX OPL BRM |
| 2026-01-10 | 11:30 AM | 0.28 | 2.4 | 0.22 | 2.4 | 0.22 | | Rain early this morning changed to snow around 6:00 am. I had an appointment earlier and could not measure until 11:30. It appears this current squall is ending. I forgot to get a snow core off the snowboard but will try to get it from another level surface and will update. |
| 2026-01-09 | 6:55 AM | 0.40 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Very warm and windy overnight with sporadic rain showers. Still lightly raining as of this reading. Temps have dropped to the mid-upper 30s. |
| 2026-01-08 | 7:25 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Nothing measurable captured in gauge. Temps are in the 40s. Most of the snow pack has melted. Only a few sporadic spots are left. |
| 2026-01-07 | 7:25 AM | 0.05 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Additional precipitation collected yesterday morning. The balance of the day and overnight was dry. Lots of melting occurring due to temps being in the upper 30s and low 40s. |
| 2026-01-06 | 8:00 AM | 0.44 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | It’s been raining since earlier this morning. Standing water is everywhere which hopefully will dry before the temps fall. Much of the snow pack is melting. |
| 2026-01-05 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Nothing caught in gauge altho the sidewalks were mildly damp this morning and it was too cold for it to be melting. So I assume a small amount of sleet fell overnight. |
| 2026-01-04 | 7:57 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | There was a small squall of sleet yesterday; however, nothing measurable. Nothing was captured in the gauge or on the snowboard. |
| 2026-01-03 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Yesterday was the first sunny day we had in many days. No precipitation was detected. Today is cloudy with some upper level precipitation that is not reaching the ground. |
| 2026-01-02 | 7:54 AM | 0.05 | 0.3 | NA | NA | NA | | Snow was fairly consistent yesterday afternoon; however, it was light and fluffy since the temps were around 10. Snowboard measured 3/10” and it was difficult to get a core due to the lightness of the flakes. |
| 2026-01-01 | 8:00 AM | 0.04 | 0.3 | NA | NA | NA | | Sleet and snow occurred yesterday afternoon. Several squalls went through and another later last evening. The snowboard had 3/10 inch; however, it was icy and that made it difficult to get a snow core. |
