| 2026-07-28 | 5:58 AM | 1.45 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Ahhhh!!! Much needed rain finally fell yesterday! There were two rounds of storms here in Delafield -one mid morning and one mid afternoon. The first round was more severe and brought an even inch of rain while the second milder one produced nearly 1/2”. You could almost watch the grass greening up as the lightning charged water hit it.
things continue to be damp and humid this morning, although there is a good northern Lake breeze coming in and bringing (hopefully) drier air with it. Temps have gone into the upper 60s and it is a comfortable morning. |
| 2026-07-27 | 5:49 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | The strong storms that were supposed to develop overnight, never developed. I can’t believe that I’m actually praying this hard for rain; but I’m getting desperate. There was a trace of water in the gauge this morning; however, I’m nearly certain that was from the heavy, heavy dewpoint in the air right now. Dewpoint is in the 80s and we are at 78° temperature. Just standing outside makes you feel damp, but there are no signs of rain on the sidewalk or anywhere else that I can detect. |
| 2026-07-26 | 6:38 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No rain again yesterday although the entire day was cloudy and felt like rain was on its way. Humidity picked up and the air is thick this morning. Forecasts are calling for rain overnight and tomorrow. I will be thrilled if they are correct! Everything is very dry and leaves have been dropping off the river birch already making it feel like Indian Summer. |
| 2026-07-25 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Still no rain… |
| 2026-07-23 | 6:29 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | A drop was in the gauge but I believe it to be condensation only. Very cool again this morning - in the upper 40a. |
| 2026-07-22 | 6:09 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Even with a few stray showers in the area, the gauge did not capture anything measurable. We only received a few drops on the sidewalk. Temps are very cool this morning-lower 50s and no rain is expected until at least early next week. |
| 2026-07-21 | 6:25 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | After a day of hype about all the potential storms we were certain to get, no rain passed through the area except for a few drops yesterday morning. It’s looking like mid August now; many prairie plants are beginning to shut down due to the lack of rain. The grass is about 40% brown and leaves are dropping off the River Birch trees making it appear as tho autumn is on the way. |
| 2026-07-20 | 6:12 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation again yesterday. Cooler temps but poor air quality from the wildfire smoke. Grass has gone dormant and there are many browned out patches all over the yard again. Rain is in the forecast for today, however. |
| 2026-07-18 | 5:53 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No rain again yesterday. As I was walking back into the house after checking the gauge, a few drops began to fall. However it doesn’t appear it will amount to much of anything sadly. |
| 2026-07-17 | 6:01 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Still no rain. Grass is definitely dying back and the ground is getting hard. Extremely dense wildfire smoke yesterday made it difficult to be outside since AQ was at an all time high. |
| 2026-07-15 | 5:50 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Another very hot and humid day. Heat advisory was in effect and will continue for the day. The grass is really beginning to brown again. Considerable fog over the prairie early this morning as temps dropped into the upper 60s. |

While I do not remember any rain since my reading yesterday, there may have been a brief shower overnight. |
| 2026-07-05 | 6:10 AM | 0.85 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | A heavy cell of rain came through mid afternoon yesterday. The rain came down in sheets although there was minimal lightning and thunder associated. The sidewalks were damp again this morning so there likely was more rain overnight. temps are now cooler and in the mid 60s. We are expecting drier conditions over the next few days.
|
| 2026-07-04 | 6:52 AM | 0.03 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Once again, storms that appeared to be heading our way on the radar dissipated, and or moved around us. The result was that we only got a small amount of rain versus some of the heavier downfalls in the area. It continues to be humid this morning, however, temps are now in the low 70s. Skies are hazy and it appears there may be rain in the forecast for today as well. |
| 2026-07-03 | 6:00 AM | 0.02 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | We only received a small amount of rain from a big line of storms yesterday afternoon. | 2026-06-29 | 5:46 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | After a very light shower mid afternoon, the humidity rose and warmer temps prevail. Only a few drops hit the ground and just a single drop was in the inner gauge this morning. Skies are slightly overcast now, the temps are in the low 70s already and it’s expected to be a very hot and muggy stretch all week. |

| 2026-06-25 | 5:53 AM | 0.51 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | A heavy downpour around 9 am yesterday is the likely culprit for most of the gauge collection today. Rains cleared out late morning and not much additional was observed after that. Sidewalks are dry this morning but there continues to be heavy dew as temps are once again in the low to mid 50s.
after a drought like May, we seemed to have gotten back on track with a more normal precipitation pattern. |

Yet when I pulled the gauge this morning, only a drop was captured. We experienced such high winds that I can only guess that most of what really fell evaporated. Note that due to the cold temps overnight, I had removed the inner tube. I will reinstall today as I suspect this was part of the issue. |

| 2026-04-20 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation observed. Temps are very cold tho and another freeze occurred this morning. I’m just hoping all the plants that are fighting so hard to come up survive! |
| 2026-04-19 | 6:39 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Hallelujah! No rain yesterday…. Below freezing overnight and there is patchy frost on the ground this morning. Skies are clearing and the winds are finally calm. |
| 2026-04-18 | 5:55 AM | 1.15 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Another very strong storm line came through the area from 6pm-8pm yesterday. Several radar spotted tornado warnings. The worst stayed south of us and we experienced heavy rain and winds but no hail or funnel clouds. Everything is very squishy this morning and temps have dropped dramatically into the low 40s. |
| 2026-04-17 | 6:03 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Clear day yesterday and no rain in the evening and overnight! Culverts are gradually receding but the lawn is still very squishy even in the higher spots. Hopefully lots of sun today will help dry out and encourage more absorption. Temps are cooler this morning - in the low 50s. |
| 2026-04-16 | 6:01 AM | 1.93 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Very strong storms came through once again last evening around 8 pm. Rain continued much of the night. This morning the ground is very squishy although I’m not seeing much pooling of water on my 3 acres so at least here it is soaking in. Along the roadway however the culverts are overflowing and Schuppernong Creek is well above its normal height. Delafield definitely has been lucking out over the last week as much of the heaviest rain has avoided us.
As I was driving home from Waukesha around 8:40 last evening I witnessed a lot of standing water on the roadways especially at the roundabout at Hwy 83 and Hwy 18. |
| 2026-04-15 | 6:02 AM | 0.50 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Storms again came through early evening and overnight. While we didn’t have significant wind and rain, other parts of the area did and there was a confirmed tornado sighting northeast of us. Damp again this morning with spotty showers. Ponding is beginning to occur in culverts around us but not on our property yet. |
| 2026-04-14 | 6:15 AM | 0.61 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Heavy rain came through in the early morning hours once again. Temps are warm in the mid 50s. The grass is very green and many of my native plants have come shooting out of the ground since temps were in the mid 70s yesterday. |
| 2026-04-13 | 6:25 AM | 0.89 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Several rounds of showers came through yesterday. Temps are warm and humid. |

| 2026-04-10 | 6:18 AM | 0.69 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | More rain came though overnight and is now clearing the area. Almost 3/4” captured in the gauge. Everything is really greening up now! |
| 2026-04-09 | 6:08 AM | 0.01 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Light rain showers came through overnight. Rain has since moved out and skies are beginning to clear. |
| 2026-04-08 | 7:29 AM | 0.03 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Light rain occurred overnight mostly in the early morning hours. There was a very light layer of ice on the hard surfaces but that is now melting as temps are warming above freezing. |

| 2026-04-06 | 7:25 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Sidewalks were wet this morning but just a drop or two was captured in the gauge. There was a lot of condensation on the outside of the cylinder. It’s in the mid 30s with clearing skies at the time of monitoring. |
| 2026-04-05 | 8:00 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | After a morning of mist, it dried out yesterday with the exception of a short sun shower. Nevertheless only a trace was caught in the gauge. |

| 2026-04-02 | 7:26 AM | 0.25 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Rain began early this morning and has continued on and off since then. The grass is definitely beginning to green up and leaves are beginning to pop out of their buds on the Japanese lilac trees.
Rain is expected for most of the day today. |
| 2026-04-01 | 6:19 AM | 0.27 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | A round of heavy rain came through around 1:30pm yesterday. It only lasted a few hours. Winds picked up and the temps began to drop. Breezy and cold this morning with temps around freezing. More rain is expected over the next few days. |
| 2026-03-31 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Winds picked up around 4 am for about an hour. Big gusts over 40 mph but the rain missed us. Chances for rain later today are very good however and there is a potential for stronger storms and hail. |
| 2026-03-30 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation observed again. |
| 2026-03-29 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No be precipitation in cylinder or observed. Temps in upper 30s with clearing skies. |

| 2026-03-27 | 8:00 AM | 0.26 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Rain began early afternoon yesterday and continued on and off through the rest of the day. Temps dropped overnight so the liquid in the cylinder froze; I needed to wait for it to melt before measuring. Temps are in the upper 20s and it’s expected to be cold today with little chance of precipitation. |
| 2026-03-26 | 7:21 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Once again no measurable precipitation caught in gauge nor observed. Temps were warm yesterday and are in the upper forties this morning. No snow pack observed. |

| 2026-03-24 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation observed. |
| 2026-03-23 | 7:26 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Short period of sleet last evening around 5:30; however, it was very light and very brief. Nothing was captured in the cylinder or on the snow board. Sunny skies this morning. |
| 2026-03-22 | 7:25 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Very warm spring day yesterday. Small isolated rain drops in the morning but nothing captured in gauge. Overcast this morning with falling temperatures. |
| 2026-03-21 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | A few sprinkles of rain dropped on my windshield around 6:30 this morning but nothing measurable was captured in the cylinder. Temps pretty much obliterated all snowpack with the exception of some shoveling and driveway piles which are very insignificant. |
| 2026-03-20 | 7:23 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | T | T | | Temps were warm yesterday and overnight. Significant melting occurred to the point where the snowpack in all sunnier spots is completely gone. |
| 2026-03-19 | 7:34 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation observed in last 24 hours. A good deal of snowmelt occurred due to temps being in the low 30s. Today is expected to be sunny and warmer, increasing melt. |
| 2026-03-18 | 7:41 AM | 0.02 | T | T | NA | NA | | Light snow fell overnight. Only a dusting on the sidewalks and snowboard. A small amount captured in the cylinder melted down to .02”. Warming is expected today so snowpack should begin to melt as well. |
| 2026-03-17 | 8:00 AM | 0.09 | T | T | NA | NA | | Leftover remnants of yesterday’s blizzard totaled 0.9” captured in the gauge. The snowboard was pretty well blown clean so it was difficult to capture a core sample that I could trust. A lot of melting has already occurred with the sun out even tho temps are very chilly.
apologies for the delay in reporting; I needed to leave the house early this morning. |
| 2026-03-16 | 7:00 AM | 1.63 | 4.1 | 0.37 | 4.1 | 0.37 | | Blizzard warning has been ongoing overnight and through today.
it’s very difficult to measure snow fall due to very high winds overnight and brisker ones this morning.
Yesterday was mostly rain and sleet. I pulled the gauge at 9 pm last night to capture just rain and ice totals which equaled 1.1” of liquid. The snow captured this morning produced .53” of water. The estimate on the cylinder said this totaled about 5”-5.5” os snow.
the snow board captured 4.1” of snow and I am awaiting the melt to report SWE. However, a table near the same location as the board measured closer to 8” while my asphalt drive that is more in the open captured an average of 6” of snow. So I’m reporting the snowboard amount officially.
Also of note is that the snowboard has approx 1/8”-1/4” of ice underneath the snow so it was difficult to capture all the precipitation in my snow core. I will update core melt shortly.
Update: snowfall core melted down to .37” SWE |
| 2026-03-15 | 7:22 AM | 0.04 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Woke to high winds and rain/freezing rain with bouts of pea size hail as well. It stopped around 5:00-5:30 however and not much precipitation has fallen since. Rain is expected to pick up again later in the morning. Temps are in the low 30s so we are right on the edge of rain and snow. There are spots on the mulch where some of the freezing rain/sleet has accumulated but I am saying there is no snowfall or snowpack. |
| 2026-03-14 | 6:12 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Heavy frost on the outside of the cylinder but no precipitation captured inside. High winds yesterday may have precluded anything from entering the cylinder; however, any precipitation that occurred was very light with only short bursts during the morning hours. |
| 2026-03-13 | 7:28 AM | 0.03 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | High winds this morning. Some mixed precipitation fell overnight. While I was switching out the cylinders, the wind knocked over the one I was replacing. I don’t believe I lost much liquid but my report may be slightly below others in the area. No snow flurries observed as temps were in the 40s early this morning. |
| 2026-03-12 | 7:20 AM | 0.05 | T | T | T | T | | Mixed precipitation fell on and off for most of the morning and afternoon yesterday. It started as drizzle then changed over to snow and then back to sleet. Not much was captured in the board so I set all the snow fields to a trace. Most of the snowpack is likely due to frost.
updated: once the residue in the cylinder melted down, I read .05” of precipitation. The majority of this was likely rain since the snowboard had only frost on the surface. |
| 2026-03-11 | 7:23 AM | 0.24 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | A quick heavy rain came through early this morning. It has since dissipated into light drizzle. Temps are cool -in the low 30s- so I’m rather surprised there’s not more ice mixed in. Precipitation expected throughout the day. |
| 2026-03-10 | 7:22 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Unseasonably warm yesterday with a strong sw breeze. No precipitation observed or captured. Temps dropped overnight and continue to fall. |
| 2026-03-09 | 7:22 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation observed yesterday. Temps were in the 60s; it was breezy and sunny. This morning is much the same with winds from the southwest and temps expected in the 60s once again. |
| 2026-03-08 | 7:27 AM | 0.01 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Precipitation captured was residual from yesterday morning’s rain event. Temps dropped through the day with no additional accumulation. Today skies are clearing and temps are expected to rise once again. No snow pack is present. |
| 2026-03-07 | 5:42 AM | 0.65 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Light rain yesterday with a stronger round coming through in the early morning hours. Although I thought we would easily have an inch or more of rain based on observation, the rain gauge only captured .65 inches in the cylinder. It continues to be overcast this morning with most of the rain having moved out; however, there may still be a shower or two this morning. |
| 2026-03-06 | 7:17 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Dense fog again this morning. While I did not witness any rain myself, there was a trace of precipitation captured in the gauge. It may be just fog moisture but I reported it as a trace. Temps are in the low 40a and a good deal of rain and storms are expected today and tonight. |
| 2026-03-05 | 7:20 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Dense fog this morning and overcast. There was a trace amount of moisture in the cylinder; however, I’m nearly certain that is just moisture from the fog as I see no other signs of rain. |
| 2026-03-04 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation observed. I somehow forgot to submit my observation after checking the gauge yesterday morning. |
| 2026-03-03 | 7:17 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | T | T | | Just a few stray drops captured in the gauge this morning. S system of light freezing rain is expected this morning but nothing much has yet hit the ground. There are still small patches of light snow in the shady areas of the yard but it is very few and far between. |
| 2026-03-02 | 7:23 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | T | T | | Sunny skies yesterday melted most of the snowfall except for shadier parts of the landscape. Quiet this morning with sunny skies. Warmer temps today should help to melt the snow in the shadier areas as well. |
| 2026-03-01 | 7:50 AM | 0.08 | 2.5 | 0.07 | 2.5 | 0.07 | | Heavy snow fell over a several hour period yesterday afternoon and early evening. Temps cooled off quickly so little snowboard melt was observed. SWE and gauge capture are nearly equivalent with the gauge capture coming in right at .08” and the snowboard SWE coming in at the midpoint between.07 and .08; I recorded it at the lower number. |
| 2026-02-28 | 6:15 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Warm and breezy yesterday. No precipitation recorded; however, a front with snow is approaching from the west today. |
| 2026-02-27 | 7:28 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Very frosty morning but nothing captured on board or in cylinder. Sunny right now with temps expected to be in the 50s today. |
| 2026-02-26 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation captured. Most of the dusting of snow has melted. |
| 2026-02-25 | 7:26 AM | T | T | T | T | T | | Light flurries occurred yesterday afternoon and early evening; however, only a slight dusting collected on both the snowboard and in the gauge. |
| 2026-02-24 | 7:26 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation observed over the last 24 hours. Temps are still very chilly -in the teens. Any light dusting of snow melted with the sun yesterday. |
| 2026-02-23 | 7:36 AM | T | T | T | T | T | | Snow flurries were seen on and off all day yesterday and through the night. However there were very light and only amounted to a trace in the cylinder and on the snow board. |
| 2026-02-22 | 7:00 AM | T | T | T | T | T | | Light snow showers began around 4 AM this morning. Not much is sticking to the ground; however, there is a distinction the hard surfaces and the snowboard. Not enough on the board to take a core sample. |
| 2026-02-21 | 8:00 AM | T | T | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | | A squall of sleet and light snow came though 2/20 around 9 am; however, only a drop or two were captured in the cylinder. The snowboard had a very light icing on it but nothing that can be measured. Temps have dropped into the 20s. |
| 2026-02-20 | 7:21 AM | 0.27 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Rain came through overnight. Lightening was seen around 8 pm last evening but no thunder heard. Temps have dropped into the low 30s. Calm so far this morning but winds are expected to pick up and more precipitation is in the forecast. |
| 2026-02-19 | 7:39 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | No precipitation captured. Temps were unseasonably warm again yesterday with strong winds from the SW. clearing skies this morning with temps in the 20s. No snowpack available to measure. |
| 2026-02-18 | 7:21 AM | 0.03 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Light showers came through overnight but skies are now clearing. Not much precipitation collected. Winds are breezy from the southwest, setting it up to be another warm springlike day. |
| 2026-02-17 | 7:31 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation again today although that’s expected to change in the coming days. Temps were on the 60s yesterday. The only snow pack left is in the densely shaded areas or areas of shoveling piles. |
| 2026-02-16 | 7:36 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | T | T | | No precipitation observed. Warm yesterday with more snow melt. Most of the snow pack has disappeared. |
| 2026-02-15 | 7:34 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | A few drops of a light passing shower went through early this morning. Dampened about 60% of the pavement and a few drops were caught in the gauge. Yesterday’s warm weather did significant melting and I’d estimate our snowpack at about 50% of my 3 acres. All sunny spots are void of snow but the shadier spots have a bit of crusty layer yet. |
| 2026-02-14 | 5:39 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Once again there was no precipitation recorded yesterday or overnight. Significant melting occurred yesterday and there are many bare spots. |
| 2026-02-13 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Once again no precipitation was captured. Temps expected in the 50s today so lots of melting is likely. |
| 2026-02-12 | 7:30 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | More melting occurred yesterday. The snow is very crusty and more bare patches are beginning to pop through. |
| 2026-02-11 | 7:21 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation captured on snowboard or in cylinder. The snowpack is definitely melting away. Patches of grass are peeking through in the sunnier areas of the yard. The snowpack is crunchy especially in the areas that have been Wales on my people or animals. Temps are getting warmer so I’m expecting melting to accelerate in the next few days. |
| 2026-02-10 | 7:27 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation observed yesterday or overnight. Temps were warm - in the 30s. Calm this morning with temps continuing in the 30s. There is definite melting occurring; I will update snowpack later today. |

updated at 8:30 am with snowfall SWE. |
| 2026-02-05 | 7:52 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | A light dusting of snow was present on the sidewalks and hard surfaces this morning. Very little was caught in the gauge but there was a trace. Temps in the teens with very light snow beginning to fall again. |
| 2026-02-04 | 7:25 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 4.1 | 0.51 | | Lots of frost again this morning but no precipitation observed. I took a snowpack measurement late yesterday afternoon and have included it with today’s reading since there’s little chance anything melted overnight. |
| 2026-02-03 | 7:30 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Trace of precipitation in the cylinder this morning although it may only be due to frost. Nothing noticeable on the snowboard. Temps near zero this morning again so there is significant frost on most hard surfaces. I will try to take a snowpack core later today and will update. |
| 2026-02-02 | 7:35 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | Snow flurries overnight delivered only a trace of precipitation in the gauge once melted. Only a few flakes are present on snow board. Warmer with temps in the upper teens. |

| 2026-01-31 | 8:00 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | A very light dusting of snow was evident this morning. The gauge did capture some of it but it did not amount to much when melted bin calling it a trace. No snow core collected. |
| 2026-01-30 | 7:46 AM | T | T | NA | NA | NA | | There was a short burst of flurries very early this morning. That has subsided but the gauge did capture a trace. It was not enough to capture a snow core. |
| 2026-01-29 | 7:16 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | My thermometer records the temp at -13 this morning. No precipitation again in the last 24 hours. |

| 2026-01-23 | 7:42 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | Very light dusting of snow present on the walks this morning. There was a brief squeal yesterday around 1 pm but it did t last long. The dusting occurred overnight. Barely a trace captured in the gauge and on the snow board. It was too light to measure. |
| 2026-01-22 | 7:37 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | There was a brief squall yesterday afternoon. The board and gauge only captured a trace however. Temps are in the single digits with an extreme arctic blast on the way. |
| 2026-01-21 | 8:00 AM | 0.09 | 1.4 | 0.08 | NA | NA | | Temps are in the mid teens. Calm winds. Snow began overnight and ended by 6 am. |
| 2026-01-20 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Temps well below zero overnight. No precipitation detected yesterday. |
| 2026-01-19 | 8:00 AM | 0.03 | 0.7 | 0.04 | 4.7 | 0.39 | | Extreme cold this morning. Light snow began falling around 3 pm yesterday. Off and on throughout the night and into early this morning. All snow stopped by 6 am. Very windy so both gauge capture and snowboard may have been impacted by the wind; however, both SWE measures were nearly equivalent. I will update snowpack later today.
updated with snowpack measurements at 4:35 pm. |
| 2026-01-18 | 7:00 AM | 0.02 | 0.9 | 0.03 | NA | NA | | Light snow continued throughout the day and evening yesterday. While only under an inch was captured on the snowboard, it seemed like there should have been a higher amount reported based on the number of times I shoveled! Nevertheless both the gauge and the snow core from the board once again were very equivalent in SWE. The gauge capture was closer to .025” but it rounded down to .02. |
| 2026-01-17 | 7:00 AM | 0.18 | 2.7 | 0.18 | NA | NA | | Snow began around 6 pm last evening - very sleety - and then changed over to snow. It got extremely windy for a short time as well.
it is not an error that my gauge capture and snowfall SWE match. That is how it measured out. It did seem like the snow had more water content than what was measured but this is how it melted down. I did add .5” of warmer water to the core each time and subtracted that from the total measure; this was the first time I used that method. Perhaps it’s not as exact as if I had just waited for it to melt on its own? |
| 2026-01-16 | 7:00 AM | 0.16 | 1.7 | NA | NA | NA | | Will complete new snowfall SWE layer this morning. |
| 2026-01-15 | 7:34 AM | T | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Slight trace of snow in gauge likely leftover from yesterday’s morning squalls. Nothing noticed overnight. Nothing captured on snowboard. |
| 2026-01-14 | 8:00 AM | 0.05 | 0.9 | NA | NA | NA | | Snow squall went through early in the morning. Snowboard collected .9” of snow; however, I did not have time to take a snow core. |
| 2026-01-13 | 7:26 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No measurable precipitation. There were a few raindrops on the sidewalk this morning but nothing captured in the gauge. Temps are expected to be in the upper 40s which should melt most of the little snowpack we have. |
| 2026-01-12 | 6:18 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | No precipitation captured or observed. |
| 2026-01-11 | 7:32 AM | T | T | T | NA | NA | | Light dusting occurred last evening but didn’t last long. By this morning the pavement has sporadic spots of flakes only. Only a drop caught in the gauge.
1/10 ob was taken at 1130 AM. MKX OPL BRM |
| 2026-01-10 | 11:30 AM | 0.28 | 2.4 | 0.22 | 2.4 | 0.22 | | Rain early this morning changed to snow around 6:00 am. I had an appointment earlier and could not measure until 11:30. It appears this current squall is ending. I forgot to get a snow core off the snowboard but will try to get it from another level surface and will update. |
| 2026-01-09 | 6:55 AM | 0.40 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Very warm and windy overnight with sporadic rain showers. Still lightly raining as of this reading. Temps have dropped to the mid-upper 30s. |
| 2026-01-08 | 7:25 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Nothing measurable captured in gauge. Temps are in the 40s. Most of the snow pack has melted. Only a few sporadic spots are left. |
| 2026-01-07 | 7:25 AM | 0.05 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Additional precipitation collected yesterday morning. The balance of the day and overnight was dry. Lots of melting occurring due to temps being in the upper 30s and low 40s. |
| 2026-01-06 | 8:00 AM | 0.44 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | It’s been raining since earlier this morning. Standing water is everywhere which hopefully will dry before the temps fall. Much of the snow pack is melting. |
| 2026-01-05 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Nothing caught in gauge altho the sidewalks were mildly damp this morning and it was too cold for it to be melting. So I assume a small amount of sleet fell overnight. |
| 2026-01-04 | 7:57 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | There was a small squall of sleet yesterday; however, nothing measurable. Nothing was captured in the gauge or on the snowboard. |
| 2026-01-03 | 8:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | NA | NA | | Yesterday was the first sunny day we had in many days. No precipitation was detected. Today is cloudy with some upper level precipitation that is not reaching the ground. |
| 2026-01-02 | 7:54 AM | 0.05 | 0.3 | NA | NA | NA | | Snow was fairly consistent yesterday afternoon; however, it was light and fluffy since the temps were around 10. Snowboard measured 3/10” and it was difficult to get a core due to the lightness of the flakes. |
| 2026-01-01 | 8:00 AM | 0.04 | 0.3 | NA | NA | NA | | Sleet and snow occurred yesterday afternoon. Several squalls went through and another later last evening. The snowboard had 3/10 inch; however, it was icy and that made it difficult to get a snow core. |
