| 2026-02-01 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | 4.0 | 0.60 | | 6 degrees Fahrenheit with mostly clear skies - I am still measuring 4 inches of snow/ice pack but this morning it was at the bottom of the 4 inch mark instead of at the top. So, I will decrease my guess of melted core value today but it is still a guess. |
| 2026-01-31 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | 4.0 | 0.70 | | 10 degrees Fahrenheit with overcast skies - Still cannot break through the snow/icepack to get the melted core value but it is holding steady at 4 inches for depth on my snowboard. Again today the core melted value is made up. I don't see melting going on out there. My driveway is still dry. |
| 2026-01-30 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | 4.0 | 0.70 | | 2 degrees Fahrenheit with overcast skies - There are still 4 inches of "frozenpack" on the ground. I do not see where there is any melting. The stuff on the road is melting some but it's been treated. Each day we've had Sun, the frozen precip on the ground seems to "sweat". It becomes even slicker but it's still solid. Maybe there is some melting. My core value is a guess. I can't break through the ice. |
| 2026-01-29 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | 4.0 | 0.70 | | -4 degrees Fahrenheit with partly cloudy skies I'm still measuring 4 inches of standing snow/ice pack but cannot get the core melted value. Based on my attempts at shoveling, it's not melting. There is still a good bit of moisture frozen on top of the ground. |
| 2026-01-28 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | 4.0 | 0.70 | | 11 degrees Fahrenheit with partly cloudy skies - Once again, I cannot break through the ice to get a melted value core although the depth measurement is accurate. I'm using the same hole that I created on Sunday. Yesterday, I had someone plow my driveway. He cleared the part I had not shoveled. The part I had shoveled did not budge. I was able to start breaking up that ice after the Sun hit. It's a solid two inches of ice. Please note that the driveway underneath of it was completely dry. There had been zero melting. |
| 2026-01-27 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | 4.5 | 0.70 | | - 6 degrees Fahrenheit with partly cloudy skies and I cannot get a melted core value because I can't break through the ice. So, my number for the melted core value is a guess. |
| 2026-01-26 | 7:00 AM | 1.16 | 4.0 | 0.79 | 8.0 | 1.47 | | 14 degrees Fahrenheit at 7:45 am. I think it is actually colder. The Sun starts warming the area with the thermometer after sunrise. I can walk on top of the snow/sleet/freezing rain mixture without breaking through. I am not sure the measurements are accurate because my rain gauge catch is still melting and I had trouble getting through to the snowboard. I do not have an ice coating on anything except the rain gauge and my car. I don't know if the ice top is from freezing rain or the cold. It was 2 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday afternoon. It was still precipitating when it got dark last night. In addition, I cleaned off my car. There was a very solid base layer of 3 inches of snow. Then it changed to what looks like soap bubbles which must be the sleet. That measured 3 and a half inches. Then there was a quarter inch of ice which must be freezing rain. |
| 2026-01-25 | 7:00 AM | 0.31 | 4.0 | 0.31 | NA | NA | | 9 degrees Fahrenheit and sleeting. Another inch has accumulated outside since I measured and brought in the gauge to melt one hour ago. I am not counting the inch in what I am reporting. It started sleeting about 2:00 am. |
