***Please note: Because of rain, my husband drove me across town to the hair salon. The torrential rain began while at the salon. When we left at about 11:30 traffic was at a crawl. The streets and roadways were heavy with overflow at the inlets and low-lying areas. The windshield wipers were laboriously waving. I was a white-knuckle and tight-lipped passenger. The traffic flow stayed mainly in the middle lanes. It took about slightly more than an hour for about a 15 mile return trip. We desperately needed the rain so were were not complaining. Both the city and state know about the need to increase street side and roadway inlets. |
