This observation was taken in 20-degree weather at 7 am. This is what was frozen in the gauge and then melted inside. We had sleet all night and accumulation of ice on ground and roads and walkways, but what fell on grass was just crunchy. Depth of frozen sleet about 1/4 inch. It is now about 22 degrees and there were a few actual snow flurries, but that has stopped now after only about 15 minutes. Sun is out and it’s 10:10 am on Sunday, 1/25/2026.
