I brought the gauge in to melt the snow/sleet/ice inside. Between yesterday’s snow, sleet, and freezing rain, it was a total of 2.72 inches. Everything in my yard is covered in ice from the freezing rain which began around 5am. Ice accretion in the backyard varies from 0.1” up to around 0.25”. We have lost three very large limbs on three trees in the yard and ultimately these trees will probably have to come down. Every other tree is bending in a way I’ve never seen before. Overall snowfall accumulation measurement on a snowboard is 1.5”, but it was probably closer to 2 inches of fluffy snow before the sleet and freezing rain began yesterday. Power went out at around 6:30am this morning. Hope everyone is staying warm as best they can, especially with the dangerously cold temperatures on their way. |
