I found a thin glaze over everything but it was not measurable. So, a trace of ice accretion at 8:00 a.m.
There were some tiny needle-shaped snowflakes on the ice as well. I also found evidence of a few ice pellets or graupel in the ice glaze. Thus, the trace of snow and trace of snow cover.
I had left the funnel and inner cylinder off the gauge after the previous day's observation to ensure the funnel did not clog. Melted ice and snow in the outer cylinder was 0.02" when melted with warm air and body heat. A few water droplets were left in the outer cylinder but I don't think it would have amounted to a higher measurement. |
