Snowed through most of the morning, heavily at times. Sleet began to mix in starting in the early afternoon. As the storm exited over night, precipitation had transitioned to almost entirely sleet.
I used a second snowboard to take multiple measurements over the course of the day (and cleared that board after each measurement) because of concern that sleet would lower the final measurement, and knowing that I would be unable to take a measurement over night when the precipitation ended.
The sleet caused much settling. My snowboard that was not touched throughout the entire day measured only 3.8'' at 7AM this morning.

The 6:57 observation time was when I measured 2.7 in of snowfall on my snowboard and when I brought the gauge inside to melt the snow for the gauge catch measurement.
Due to the time it took to melt the gauge catch snow and determine the gauge catch measurement, my core sample was taken at 7:22 -this is 25 minutes after the initial measurement.
Snow is low density and very sensitive to airflow. Uneven accumulation in gauge catch. Winds East very gentle, about 5 mph. Temperature in the low teens. Continued to snow throughout the entire time I had the gauge inside taking measurements, so tomorrow's measurement may be slightly under actual performance.
