An explanation of the unusual data recorded: Snow and sleet was falling when the gauge was read/emptied on 3/2/26 and continued to fall until about noon, accumulating to 0.8 inches. As the temperature warmed during the day all this snow melted resulting in zero inches of snowpack. Since there was no snowpack at the observation time today, the snowpack melted value was recorded as zero. Then during the overnight hours rain fell and added to the gauge total causing the snowfall melted value impossible to determine.
