N.B. 0.01-0.02" of precip yesterday morning got reported in yesterday's 0730 obs. |

New rain moved in at 1430 but my Davis VP appears to be clogged so timing and rain rate are likely useless. A new shower started at 0715 this morning, and this obs likely has a couple hundredths of rain from that. |

| 2025-06-07 | 7:00 AM | 1.53 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | My Davis VP claimed that the 1540-1550 sample was 0.37" and a peak of 11.5"/h. I suspect the tipping bucket got hung up for a bit. The previous two samples were a much more believable 0.12" and about 0.9"/h. However, my surveillance camera's 1540 photo was clearly the heaviest rain, and I was outside in a bicycling rain poncho.
At any rate, the 1.22" total is accurate, per weighing total stack. Update: I divided weight by 260 instead of the correct 206! Sigh. 1.53" is right. |

Yesterday here brought a lot of rain, but but I drove through a remarkable downpour that missed Sutton on the way home from the annual meeting of the Mt. Washington [weather] Observatory. My max rain rate was about 3"/h, 0.16" in a 10 minute period ending at 1020. |
| 2025-05-31 | 7:00 AM | 0.71 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | I managed to get out right at 0700 in moderate rain, an appropriate way to close out a very rainy month. I'm kinda of leaning that precip start/end times shouldn't include periods where a trace falls, unless that's the only precip of the day. The morning's rain ever rated a rainfall rate from my weather station,so it's not even worth calling the bucket tips at 0900 and 0950 as the heaviest rain of the day. |
| 2025-04-27 | 7:30 AM | 1.17 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | It was raining moderately at the start of the period (also 0730) and very lightly at today's obs. There shouldn't be much more today, so storm total of 1.50" so far will be close to the final total. No rain from about 1530 until this AM, but the last round exceeded 1"/hour for a bit. |
| 2025-04-26 | 7:30 AM | 0.33 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Late OBS - 0700 reading would be about 0.23".

Rain started right at 1600, mostly stopped for a while, but mix began around 2340. That was mostly over by 0600, but very light precip continued through 0730 when collected precip and data. Air temp was about 36F after rain started, right around freezing overnight. Wet snow is perched atop blades of grass and rim of gauges. |

| 2025-03-31 | 7:00 AM | 0.31 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 0.0 | 0.00 | | Rain on and and off throughout the day, mostly dry in the afternoon through midnight. A late shower ended at 0650, do I'll log that time. :-) Temperature was arond 32.5F for most of the period, but with a blip up to 32.8F at 1600. Low level ice is gone, looks like that was aided by low level fog overnight. |
| 2025-03-30 | 7:00 AM | 0.54 | T | NA | T | NA | | Light freezing rain for most of the period. No bucket tips between 1500 and 2140, but with icing, I'm confident about that. No more than one tip per 10 minute interval. Just a light glaze on everything - I crawled over the three steps to the backyard to get to the gauge.
There's nothing like spring in New England. |

New England weather at its weirdest. |

| 2025-03-06 | 7:00 AM | 1.09 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 10.0 | NA | | light rain in the AM between 0850-1130 brought some 0.06"(?), overnight 1900-0540 brought all the rest. |

| 2025-02-28 | 7:00 AM | 0.49 | 2.7 | 0.48 | 14.0 | NA | | Snow had a break mid-morning, the resumed and precip ended soon after a change to light rain.

| 2025-02-27 | 7:30 AM | 0.08 | 0.9 | 0.08 | 12.0 | NA | | Up late, sorry. Precip started as snow and sleet. Some melting yesterday with slushy spots lingering on cleared paths due to melt water creeping over frozen ground. |

| 2025-02-17 | 7:00 AM | 0.82 | 3.1 | 0.77 | 15.5 | NA | | Storm total: Gauge 1.22", snow: 6.4", SWE: 1.16". Precip by time was mostly sleet, there was no liquid precip. Morning before 0900 and later 1500-2330 were periods with the heaviest precip with the latter period changing to real snow before a FROPA and shift to very strong wind overnight that will continue today. I ran the snowblower around 2100 so I wouldn't have to deal with today's wind. More snow fell than I expected, but it will fit in the second pass with the snow shovel. |
| 2025-02-16 | 7:00 AM | 0.40 | 3.3 | 0.39 | 14.0 | NA | | Snow is accumulating more slowly than expected. Hey, I can read a yardstick with my surveillance camera zoomed all the way in. Accumulation was 1" at the start of a 1900 lull, 2" more between 2200 and 0200, then slowly for another half inch from then to 0630 with a transition to mostly sleet. |

| 2025-02-14 | 7:00 AM | 0.31 | 0.9 | 0.29 | 11.0 | NA | | Snow/sleet continued, ending as some freezing drizzle. |
| 2025-02-13 | 7:00 AM | 0.27 | 1.7 | 0.27 | 11.0 | NA | | Snow changing to sleet, no rain yet. I can't tell from surveillance images when the change started. Given the low fluff factor, 0300 might be close. Air temp now 24.2°F and slowly rising since midnight. |

| 2025-02-10 | 7:00 AM | 0.02 | 0.1 | 0.01 | 11.5 | NA | | Yesterday's snow ended by 0820 with very little additional accumulation. A flurry around 1900 brought more snow than that. More interesting than that was the two inches of snow cover lost to settling of yesterday's super fluffy snow. |
| 2025-02-09 | 7:00 AM | 0.42 | 7.1 | 0.42 | 13.5 | NA | | Ignoring a few flakes late in the AM, I had fluffy overnight snow that's now winding down. Temperature was 20-25F. |
| 2025-02-08 | 7:00 AM | T | 0.1 | T | 6.5 | NA | | A more than a flurry, less than a squall came through this AM to leave an exclamation mark on yesterday's snow. |
| 2025-02-07 | 7:00 AM | 0.41 | 3.3 | 0.35 | 7.0 | NA | | Snow from 0910 to 1400, freezing drizzle from 1520 to 1830, frozen drizzle around 2040 and 2340. Or something like that. I suspect the gauge reading is high, perhaps it caught extra drizzle. Perhaps the core sample missed some icy crust. |

| 2025-02-05 | 7:00 AM | T | T | NA | 5.0 | NA | | A brief snow flurry around 0200 adds nothing to precip data other than the high count of days where precip was observed. |
| 2025-02-04 | 7:00 AM | 0.11 | 0.0 | 0.00 | 5.0 | NA | | Rain overnight with air temp dropping below freezing around 0400. A little icing is on ground and structures. |
| 2025-02-03 | 7:00 AM | 0.13 | 1.2 | 0.13 | 6.0 | NA | | Overnight snow, not worth firing up the snowblower for. |
| 2025-02-02 | 7:00 AM | T | T | NA | 4.5 | NA | | Just a few flakes in the morning that really don't deserve mention. Well, they deserve mention, they don't deserve attention. |
| 2025-02-01 | 7:00 AM | 0.25 | 2.0 | 0.24 | 4.5 | NA | | A trace of sleet and freezing rain fell around 1500, snow started for real around 1700. |

| 2025-01-30 | 7:00 AM | 0.02 | 0.4 | 0.03 | 3.5 | NA | | On and off snow, even after cold air moved in late in the afternoon after the 1330 FROPA. |
| 2025-01-29 | 8:00 AM | 0.11 | 1.6 | 0.11 | 4.0 | NA | | Up late today, snow may have just ended. Not much fell after 0700 per back yard camera. |
| 2025-01-28 | 7:00 AM | T | T | NA | 2.5 | NA | | Predictions of a squall line of snow overnight pretty much didn't pan out. A band of snow was on radar around 0300 but never boosted the dew point, let alone reaching the ground. A brief flurry around 0630 coincided with FROPA and a boost in dew point, hence the (insubstantial trace). |

| 2025-01-19 | 7:00 AM | 0.14 | 0.0 | 0.00 | T | NA | | Rain started after our 40F high for the day. It was at 34F, so little change in my patchy snow cover. |

| 2025-01-06 | 7:00 AM | 0.01 | 0.1 | 0.01 | 1.0 | NA | | A pointless snow shower (more than a flurry, less than something worth writing about) brought a barely measurable 0.1" of snow. Then afternoon sun and wind got rid of it all. |

| 2025-01-01 | 7:45 AM | 0.69 | 0.6 | 0.36 | 1.0 | NA | | This is some of the most repulsive crud to have fallen all year. All last year too. Snow mixed in between 0300 and 0500 then changed back to rain leaving slush on the snow board and a slush ring atop the gauge. It may not melt today. |
