| 2026-07-08 | 7:00 AM | 2.51 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Evening thunderstorms brought heavy wind and rain. Around 7:30 it had picked up enough that a few families were out on their porches to watch. Driving rain, winds at about 25-30 mph. Looked like a tropical storm. We were getting a little wet huddled in the furthest corner of the porch. Not a ton of visible lightning, or lightning that close, but the thunder had a real crackling energy to it. The low-lying parts of the back yard pretty quickly got ankle deep (gone this morning). A neighbor’s young maple split in half at a weak branch union. |

| 2026-06-19 | 7:00 AM | 1.27 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Rain started up around 8:30pm here - the afternoon thunderstorms missed us. Started reasonably hard, around 1” an hour, and continued past midnight and possibly all the way through this morning, where it’s a light but steady rain. It’s been lovely to sit out and listen to it. |

| 2026-05-22 | 7:00 AM | 1.69 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Thunderstorms last night! A good wind picking up ahead of it, scattering the families eating dinner outside at Weaver St Market. A welcome rain. You could hear it on the roof in the library; people protected their books, hugging the edge of the building as long as possible, and jogged to cars. Sometimes heavy enough to need full-speed wipers and slow you down while driving, but not for long. 0.64” had fallen by the time I got back to the gauge at 8:08 last night. And about another inch overnight. This morning it’s lightly raining, more mist than rain. |

| 2026-05-14 | 7:00 AM | T | 0.0 | NA | NA | NA | | Small scattered clouds - a fine morning. Several drops on the gauge’s funnel and in the inner tube (no haze of dew), enough to moisten the roofs, the vegetation. On the drive to Durham, drops were shaking down from trees in some places. |
