| 2026-04-07 | 7:00 AM | 0.01 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | The drizzle, rain, and graupel/pea-sized hail that fell in the afternoon totaled .015". The latter three occurred starting at approximately 19:05Z for about 4-5min (mixed frozen precip & light rain during, I believe the rain started first by a short margin). Some of the hydrometeors were soft and slushy on contact (even before reaching the wet ground) while others bounced and/or rolled on the pavement after impact.
The snow came through at 23:30-00:00Z and amounted to trace (the gauge remained empty despite precipitating).

This is looking like possible undercatch, given the Tropo 3 times now had read lower than my Davis and even my Tempest that's new and self-calibrating still. Until I can separate the gauges enough so they have unobstructed airflow, this issue seems likely to persist. Keep that in mind as you use these readings until the issue is corrected. |

The Davis VP2 read .48" and its 6-7' high anemometer reported the dominant wind direction was from the East. The Tempest is above and on the East side of the manual gauge. Work is being done to figure out solutions to minimize any bias. |

I accidentally left the gauge in winter config. There was some light rain yesterday morning, but when I had checked at 19:30Z, the outer tube was completely dry. If there was trace amounts of water, it may have evaporated. Davis VP2 reads 0" (so less than .01") and the Tempest reads .01". I did observe rain near the station yesterday. |

I didn't realize there was rain incoming first overnight and that the snow was for tonight. There was quite a bit of wetting loss on the outer tube. |

| 2026-03-14 | 8:00 AM | 0.03 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | There is a tiny bit of debris in the inner tube during obs. I lack coffee filters or anything that could safely filter it out at the moment. It was what looked to be 2 tiny plant/tree fibers (I honestly couldn't tell 100%, they were wet, brown, ~.03" long, ~.01" wide, flat strands) and there were also a couple small specks present. None of the debris seemed to float.
Today @ 12:00Z I noticed the gauge had been rotated nearly 180°. It's held to the pole with 2 zip ties. As the cyclone passed, dominant winds shifted from S to SW to W and at 04:14Z a WSW wind of 26.5mph was recorded on the VP2.
Upon further inspection I noted that the VP2 had been rotated ever so slightly to the NNW. |

Funnel and inner tube not installed. Precipitation was snow this morning, rain mid-day, then drizzle in the afternoon.
Multiple (5-6) empty trash cans blown over in the neighborhood with 2 being directly across the street from the station.

03/13/2026: It has been snowing since ~11:00Z, and upon doing so immediately got quite windy. My Davis Instruments VP2 Plus at 11:14Z read 18.3mph; the anemometer is mounted ~6-7' AGL.
Highest wind measured as of 19:00Z from VP2 is 18.9 mph WSW @ 16:09Z.
At 20:40Z another 18.9mph gust from the West is reported as the highest in 10min. Top gusts per hour from 11:00Z-20:00Z were 6.2 - 18.9mph. 15:00Z - 20:00Z had the highest gusts overall, all being >= 13.3mph. Dominant direction remains from the South.
Highest gust so far at 22:38Z being 24.1mph SSW. Direction dominant now SW.
At 19:34Z I had noticed the gauge had slightly rotated, maybe 1-3° clockwise. |

03/27/2026: The placement of the Tempest may be interfering with the readings of the manual gauge. Only 1 data point is available so far but for 03/26, the Tempest read .42", the Davis VP2 .42", and the Tropo was .34". This will be monitored further for potential bias. |
