| 2025-04-06 | 7:00 AM | 3.28 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Rain and thunderstorms all afternoon and evening on Saturday. It started raining around 1:30 PM, and the rain, thunder, and lightning did not stop all day - the heaviest rain with a storm around 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM. The wind had the extremely heavy rain going sideways, and visibility was virtually zero. It looked like a hurricane. Our property had all of the usual areas flooded that flood with a heavy rain ( creeks, pond, low-lying points in the field), but it was on a greater scale, and we also had water come up into our crawlspace from a drain in it from our crawlspace encapsulation. We have a pump in that corner where the drain is pumping the water out of a pipe that comes out of the brick we installed with the pump. It was doing its job pumping the water out. During the 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM extremely heavy rain part of the storm, I believe that is when the cold front started pushing through. The temperature dropped from around 70F to 55F.
This morning at 7 AM, it's cloudy with a light drizzle, and 48".
Our 4-day rain total now sits at 8.47" as of 7 AM today. On the entire 5-acre property, the ground is saturated to the point of even having a little standing water on the high ground this morning. |
| 2025-04-05 | 7:00 AM | 0.86 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Rain and thunderstorms last night and early this morning. Thunderstorm at 6:15 AM had extremely heavy rain. We continue to be in a flash flood warning this morning. Our curtain drain, creek, and pond are overflowing, and the ground is overly saturated with water with low lying areas having standing water, which is typical with a very heavy rain event. Still sprinkling at 7 AM. Temp is 62F. |
| 2025-04-04 | 7:00 AM | 2.21 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Rain off and on throughout the day. Thunderstorms were plentiful all night with incredible nonstop lightning with the later storms. No storms got to the severe stage, but around 10:30 PM, I could see the lightning show off to the west & northwest, and it was some of the most spectacular lightning I've ever seen here. It was more of a strobe light effect. Ground is overly saturated. A little flooding of the banks of the creek and pond on my property, but nothing excessive at this point. |
| 2025-04-03 | 7:00 AM | 2.12 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Windy with an occasional thunderstorm during the night & overnight hours. We were on the outer southern edge of a strong line of severe storms that included tornadoes. While we were under both a tornado watch and severe thunderstorm watch at different times last night, we got neither. This morning at 7 AM, it's cloudy, a few sprinkles, the wind is calm, and it's 64F. |

It drifted a lot, so I took a number of measurements which ranged from 2.5" to 8" where it drifted. In the open areas away from the house and trees, it is generally 4" of snow. The wind has calmed this morning, but it is cold. Temp of 16F this morning at 7 AM. It did take some time for the snow in the outer cylinder to melt, so the report is late, but it is for the conditions at 7 AM. |

Accumulation of 1/2". |

The creek and pond on our property have both overflowed their banks. Our curtain drain is doing its job but full directing water to the creek then to the pond. Even the high points are soggy to standing water. Our road is not flooded, though. |

There were a few places in the field that measured 4", but it was likely due to some drifting. All the flat surfaces I measured were 3". The total snow melt from the outer cylinder was .24". Minimal travel impacts as the county roads department treated the roads prior to the storm, and the snow accumulation was not as much as what was predicted by NWS Paducah, which had us in the 4" to 6" range. |

It currently appears to be mostly rain coming down now. It is currently not safe for me to walk out to the rain gauge, and I do not have an additional gauge to put in its place while I allow what's frozen in the gauge to melt as precipitation continues to fall. There is some frozen rain on the windows of the house, a glaze of freezing rain on the vehicles and road. It is 32F according to the temp station I can monitor from inside. I will post a full report for today's precipitation at a later time. UPDATE: Precipitation total is from when the precipitation started between 4 AM to 5 AM according to 12 PM noon, when we had a break in the precipitation so I could remove the outer cylinder long enough to get a melted total. There was very little ice & mostly water. The total of .93" is the total melted precipitation from 4-5AM when it started until 12 PM noon, so about 6-7 hours. |
