| 2025-05-17 | 7:00 AM | 0.98 | NA | NA | NA | NA | | Today is a sad day at KY-AL-11. I'm unsure if what hit after 10 pm last night was straight-line wind or a small bouncing tornado, but I have several trees splintered and down, two with tops wrung out like wringing a wet wash cloth. Two of the trees I lost adorned a small cemetery on my property, which I keep mowed and trimmed. I'm 55 now, and those trees had been there since my childhood. The fact that Saturday dawns sunny, gently breezy and pleasant is almost an flippant insult, like a meteorological Eddie Haskell beaming a big smile after a rambunctious spree. But judging by the fatalities and damage elsewhere in the news this morning, things could obviously be much worse. my heart goes out th those families. I'm alive, and my home is still standing. I should embrace the day, warts and all. |
