Local lake ("Rend Lake") so low there are boating advisories for running aground, and they are worried about water supplies (it is a reservoir for that entire area).
Local reservoir lake ("Kinkaid Lake") also at low levels, though it is at least somewhat spring-fed from underground aquifers.
I don't know the exact "drought level" assigned to Jackson County, IL and Murphysboro in particular, but I do know it's really getting dry here. |
