We have some hope for at least a little rain tonight into tomorrow. This area is under a fire watch and outdoor burning ban due to the extreme dryness of the vegetation. This is exacerbated by the large amount of downed and dead/dying trees caused by the ice storm roughly two weeks ago. It has left a lot of fuel on the ground, and any spark could set off very large fires in this heavily-wooded area. (State and national forests and wildlife refuges.) |
