Got a weather channel notification for this location at 1456 for heavy blowing snow to begin at 1535– by then we were well underway—they must have meant Denver! |

No way it was accurate—i would put it in the 30-50’s sustained wind with gusts —60-70 mph. Have had high winds here before with at least two microbursts over the years. Had to go out several times and move or remove outdoor items because they were affected—one of them a 50 lb. Wrought iron bench. Smaller Trees in a park behind my house were holding on for dear life (even though partially blocked by the NW wind. Wooden fence panels across the street were knocked down, coarse sand from a volleyball pit was airborne blowing, one squirrel nest gone. There was a constant roar of sound. Winded backed down to 25-30 mph winds w/40 mph gusts late afternoon. Whew! Glad that’s over. |
