DID measure snowboard at end of snowfall, and that is reported here - snow began at 8:15am and ended at 1:15pm, 1.7” on snowboard and average 1.76” on 3 grassy areas. This morning at measurement time the is about 50% area coverage of avg 0.4” There was little wind all day and night but this morning it is “breezy” UPDATE 1/09: Better able to get to gauge, saw it indeed had ice lining the bottom which had looked like just the bottom. Melted it indoors and have now update the gauge catch. Will do better next time! |

Light winds begin from the north around 12:30pm, much stronger starting around 2:15pm, from the west/southwest. Died down completely at 2:45pm, 100% stillness for about 45 mins. Back again with periodic gusts at 3:30pm, now from the west, gusts getting weaker through the afternoon and evening. Strong steady winds and gusts begin again at 2am and continue thru time of rain gauge measurement. |
