| 2025-05-02 | 7:00 AM | 0.62 | 0.2 | NA | T | NA | | Occasional light rain showers and sprinkles began around 11:20am. At 12:27pm, observed heavy rain mixed with very small hail that probably began around 12:25pm. Hail report was submitted. Heavy rain intensity decreased to moderate rain around 12:35. Steady moderate rain continued until 2:15pm, then gradually decreased further until stopping at 2:25pm. This is a very accurate stop time. Checked gauge catch at 2:27pm and it indicated 0.41" of precipitation. Occasional light rain showers and sprinkles continued through the afternoon. Observed a light rain shower at 6:25pm ending at 6:48. Gauge catch reading indicated 0.41". As 8:00pm approached, observed about three strokes of lightning in the distant west. The last one I heard had a distant rumble of thunder. That was the last thunder I heard. Thunderstorm had an ominous low and dark cloud under it moving SE. Light rain began around 8:04pm. Precipitation increased at 8:12pm and again at 8:13pm with stronger winds from the NW. Heavy rain with graupel began at 8:15pm with graupel diameter ranging from 1/8" to 1/4". Precipitation decreased at 8:23 with graupel and only light rain by 8:25pm. Skies began to clear at 8:40 but rain sprinkles continued ending at 8:53pm. Graupel accumulation measured 0.25" on snowboard. Checked gauge catch around 9:00pm indicating 0.45" with about an inch of graupel to melt in the funnel. After melting, the gauge catch reading this morning is 0.62" with traces of graupel and heavy frost on the snowboard and ground. I entered graupel accumulation as snow. Bird bath has about 1/8" of ice. |

| 2025-04-27 | 7:00 AM | T | 0.0 | NA | 0.0 | NA | | Drizzle continued yesterday until around 9:30am with dense fog also beginning to dissipate. Low stratus began to break up at 10:00am with the sun peeking through at 10:10am. Hard surfaces began to dry but vegetation was still wet at 10:30am. Checked the gauge catch at this time and found a trace of precipitation. Sky began to clear even more in the afternoon. Heavy condensation this morning has most surfaces soaking wet including the grass. Gauge catch is also wet inside and outside the funnel. |
| 2025-04-26 | 7:00 AM | 0.10 | 0.0 | NA | 0.0 | NA | | Low overcast all day yesterday. About mid-afternoon, fog settled in with about 1/2-mile visibility. At around 6:30pm, dense fog reduced visibility down to about 1/16-mile. Drizzle began sometime during the 7:00pm hour which increased visibility to about 1/2-mile. Checked gauge catch at 9:40pm and it was indicating 0.05". Gauge catch this morning is at 0.10" with drizzle continuing indicating it must have drizzled most of the night. Visibility is currently at around 1/4-mile in dense fog. Everything outside is soaking wet. |
| 2025-04-25 | 7:00 AM | 0.02 | 0.0 | NA | 0.0 | NA | | Precipitation began as sprinkles at 5:53pm with sporadic small rain drops that steadily became slightly larger as time moved on. At 6:00pm raindrops became significantly larger and a few seconds later were mixed with soft ice with an occasional soft hail stone (Hail Report completed). The rain with soft hail mix lasted about 1 - 2 minutes and then returned to light rain which ended at 6:12pm. I heard about seven cloud to cloud lightning weak thunder events during this time. Checked gauge catch after event and had only a trace of precipitation. Thunderstorms continued to develop around us throughout the evening hours. Checked gauge catch again at 10:30pm and observed almost 0.02". Reviewed Doppler Loop this morning and observed rain showers in our area at 2:15am, 3:15am, 5:45am and around 6:30am. Surfaces this morning are damp and we have a low stratus layer. |

| 2025-04-14 | 7:00 AM | 0.06 | T | NA | 0.0 | NA | | Returned home around 5:00pm and felt sporadic small raindrops on my skin. This was barely perceptible. Measurable precipitation began after 9:30pm with a mixture of rain and graupel. Doppler was indicating moderate precipitation at 9:30pm. Checked outside to confirm and it was very light precipitation. This increased in intensity around 10:00pm. Observed lightning through the window blinds at 10:08 and subsequent thunder was indicative of cloud to ground lightning. Doppler did indicate this convective cell to our SE. Precipitation mixture increased to moderate intensity. However, accumulation did not go beyond a trace due to the warm ground. Doppler indicates precipitation ended around 10:20pm. Placed the gauge catch funnel on top to eliminate any evaporation from the breezy conditions. Graupel was just over a 1/16" in diameter. Precipitation times are approximate. Surface of topsoil is barely damp this morning. Surprisingly, precipitation in gauge catch is liquid with no ice but the bird bath has a thin layer of ice. |

| 2025-04-02 | 7:00 AM | 0.09 | 1.4 | 0.10 | 1.5 | 0.10 | | Occasional snow flurries yesterday afternoon with no measurable precipitation. Doppler indicates moderate snow bands during the early morning hours ending around 5:00am. Snowpack appears to have minimal wind influence during precipitation event. Trace of old snow remains as one snowdrift on north side of trees. |
| 2025-04-01 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | T | NA | | Returned yesterday and reinstalled the gauge catch. |
| 2025-01-11 | 6:30 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | T | NA | | Warm and bright sunshine all day yesterday. Snowpack depleted to about 30% coverage with mostly snowdrifts remaining. |
| 2025-01-10 | 7:00 AM | 0.02 | NA | NA | 1.0 | 0.10 | | Near blizzard conditions at times yesterday morning. Deepest snowdrift estimate is about 3.0 feet. Average snowpack depth around the yard taking ten non-drifted samples was 0.9". Peak winds gusted to around 50mph from the north. Trace of old snowpack remains. Unable to accurately measure new snowfall due to severely drifted snow and snowboard is blown clean. Snowdrifts are densely packed from the strong winds. Snowfall subsided in the early afternoon and ended by mid-afternoon. |
| 2025-01-09 | 7:00 AM | 0.01 | NA | NA | 1.5 | 0.10 | | Tranquil but cold day yesterday. We did manage to get above freezing for a bit during the afternoon. Strong cold front passed through earlier this morning with north winds gusting to 37mph. Consequently, the evenly distributed snowpack is now history as the new and old snowpack has blown into drifts. Unable to measure new snowfall but did get an average of new and old snowpack of 1.4". Doppler is indicating steady snowfall up on the Palmer Ridge and this undulates south from time to time providing us snow showers. |
| 2025-01-08 | 7:00 AM | 0.04 | 1.0 | 0.05 | 2.0 | 0.16 | | Steady light snow continued yesterday after 7:00am observation and continued until about 10:10am then became snow showers at 10:35. This increased in intensity at 10:45. Then increased to moderate snow approaching 11:00am for just a few minutes. After 11:00, precipitation became mostly snow flurries and ended around 12:30pm. Sampled snowboard and measured 1.0" of new snow with a SWE of 0.05". Sun managed to peek through the overcast from time to time in the afternoon. This caused settling of old and new snow from a peak accumulation of 2.5" to 2.0" this morning. During the late afternoon or evening there was evidence of an additional trace of very light fluffy snow. This did not affect snow measurements. |
| 2025-01-07 | 7:00 AM | 0.10 | 1.5 | 0.11 | 1.5 | 0.11 | | First snow shower began around 7:20pm with a light dusting of dry snow. Doppler indicates bulk of the snow occurred after midnight. Went outside for 7:00am observation at 6:58am and it was not snowing. Light snow began on my way to gauge catch at 6:59am and continued through the 7:00am observation activity. Trace of old snow drifts remain. There was no wind associated with the snowfall so far. As a result, new snowpack is evenly distributed and easy to measure from snowboard. |
| 2025-01-06 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | T | NA | | Old snowdrifts remain. |
| 2025-01-05 | 7:00 AM | T | T | NA | T | NA | | Trace of new snow on ground, snowboard and gauge catch. Old snowdrifts remain. Snowfall likely occurred between 10:00pm and midnight as Doppler was painting snow showers in our area. |
| 2025-01-04 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | T | NA | | Old snowdrifts remain. |
| 2025-01-03 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | T | NA | | Old snowdrifts from November storm remain. |
| 2025-01-02 | 7:00 AM | 0.00 | 0.0 | NA | T | NA | | Trace of recent snow and old snow remain. There is no new snow. |
